Abstract
Restoring social equity is one of the purposes of criminal punishment, enshrined in the
Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova. Even if equity is the basis of criminal law, this
goal is not so easy to achieve, because restoring social equity can only be achieved by
reconciling the interests of all parties involved in the conflict generated by crime - the state
and society, the offender and the victim, a goal not at all easy to accomplish.
