Abstract
This particular period of the history of television was marked by an intensification of the communist party's monopoly over all areas of social activities, including mass media means, the consolidation of the state broadcasting system, and the strengthening of the communist party’s control. The analyzed period is also characterized by the annual issue of several decisions of the party bodies regarding the role and tasks of television, which, de facto, had to turn into a docile propaganda instrument of the communist party. Several TV shows that enjoyed some popularity and public interest, were put on the air only after strict verification and editing, de facto - thorough censorship, in the process of which any messages that could arouse the slightest doubts about the veracity of the policy promoted by the party, the most little hint of non-dogmatic, informal thinking – had been removed. The television activity from 1968-1978 is also designated by the strictest censorship on the part of the party-state, the propaganda of Marxist-Leninist theories, the glorification of communist leaders, also by heavy pressure from the communist ideology.
