Abstract
L(Select x
L(Select x BŢ 43) x Select
The total peroxidase activity was determined in the sprouts of 4 wheat genotypes under the influence of phytopathogenic fungi Fusarium oxysporum and Drechslera sorokiniana - root rot pathogens. The electrophoretic profiles of peroxidase isozymes in control and experimental samples were also studied. A significant increase in peroxidase activity was observed only under the influence of F. oxysporum and only in the line of L (Select x BŢ 43) x Select (an increase of 18%) and in the variety Aluniş (an increase of 40%). The treatment of grains with the D. sorokiniana culture filtrate did not lead to significant changes in peroxidase activity in the studied samples. There was a slight increase in activity (1%) in the line L (Select x BŢ 43) x Select, and there was also a slight increase in activity in Aluniş (2%). When studying the electrophoretic spectra of peroxidase enzymes in the studied wheat genotype, 6 isozymes with molecular weights from 58.2 kDa to 23.8 kDa were found. The phytopathogenic fungi F. oxysporum and D. sorokiniana did not change the isozyme composition of peroxidases in the studied cultivars, however, in some specimens influenced by F. oxysporum the quantitative ratio of individual isoenzymes changed significantly. In particular, in the sample L(Select x BŢ 43) x Select, zones 3, 4, 5, 6 accumulated and the intensity of zone 5 has increased 1.4 times. In the Aluniş variety, all zones except zone 6 accumulated, the intensity of zone 3 increased 2.4 times, and the intensity of zone 5 increased 1.6 times. Consequently, when the culture filtrates of the fungi F. oxysporum, D. sorokiniana were exposed to the grains of some of the studied genotypes of soft wheat, a genotypic change in the peroxidase activity of the host plant occured – stimulating or inhibiting the synthesis of individual isoforms of peroxidases.
