Abstract

Dezintegrarea URSS a generat pentru Federația Rusă o situaţie geopolitică şi geostrategică nouă. Rusia aspiră la redobândirea statutului de altădată, a celui de supraputere. Extinderile succesive ale NATO şi UE spre Est au scos în relevanţă inconsistenţa politicii ruseşti. Îmbrăţişarea vectorului euroatlantic de către Georgia şi Ucraina sau a celui european de către Republica Moldova au relevat că interesele Rusiei derivă din principalele obiective (neoficiale) ale intereselor geostrategice și ale politicii externe – de a menţine controlul asupra fostelor republici sovietice.
