Studii monografice și istorii locale în context publicistic [Articol]

Abstract

With the establishment of the democratic regime in the Republic of Moldova, the rights and freedoms of citizens are also being promoted. Interest in local history is growing for the restoration of the truth covered for decades by the propaganda of the totalitarian communist regime through disinformation, distortion of facts and manipulation for political purposes. More than 200 locations have so far been honored with monographic studies and local histories. In 2017, each of the 1,674 localities, attested at that time, was presented in a publicistic version in the encyclopedic series Localities of the Republic of Moldova. We are presenting a classification of the monographic studies and local histories developed by scholars, cultural figures, publicists, and historians who, guided by patriotic feelings, undertook a civic commitment to convey in words the historical truth of the localities, aiming at their sustainable development in a future free from hybrid wars and special informational psychological operations.
