Abstract
The principle of loyal cooperation is indeed a cornerstone of the EU’s legal framework. It emphasizes the need for member states to actively support and implement EU laws, ensuring their effectiveness and uniform application. This principle not only obligates states to take necessary actions but also fosters collaboration between EU institutions and member states. By reinforcing horizontal cooperation, especially in areas like criminal law, it helps maintain the integrity and functionality of the EU legal system. Overall, loyal cooperation promotes a cohesive approach to governance within the Union, enhancing both legal certainty and mutual trust among member states.
