Abstract

Violence represents a negative social scourge, and criminal violence a specific manifestation of the social phenomenon of violence. Violence is increasingly reported in contemporary societies, representatives of international organizations, specialists, decision- makers of governmental and non-governmental institutions, but also simple citizens expressing their opinions related to the increase in the number of violent acts and the multiplication of the forms of manifestation of this phenomenon. The fear and sense of insecurity felt by citizens from various social systems are increasingly invoked in the speeches of specialists concerned with the evolution of the phenomenon of violence in space and time. The phenomenon of violence is a constant concern of contemporary specialists in the field of psychology, sociology, criminal law, criminology and other social sciences, who are interested in conceptualizing, identifying the causes and factors that generate and favor the manifestations of violence, developing effective measures to prevent and combat this phenomenon social.
