Abstract
In the article „Theoretical and applied interconnections in assessing the quality of lifeˮ the author analyzes the concerns for quality of life research, which has become increasingly common in recent years. It is mentioned that studies in the field emphasize indicators and dimensions of quality of life, which have no important role in promoting public policies. The author notes that a source of concern is the fact that the concept of quality of life implies the objective of ensuring well-being and that material well-being is an element which, in combination with other elements, contributes to a fulfilled existence. The article also analyzes the difficulties of measuring quality of life indicators. The author emphasizes that a high quality of life presupposes the possibility of developing human potential based on such resources as individual and personal values and competences.
