Abstract

In the present article the main goal has been to study the historical evolution of state security bodies in the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic (MSSR) after the Second World War. Special attention is paid to the competence of these bodies in the communist totalitarian regime. The period of Soviet governance has most strongly affected the present legal status of state security bodies in the Republic of Moldova.
