The impact of emotional intelligence and socio-demographic factors on the coping mechanisms used by adolescents
    (CEP USM, 2024) Pleșea, Andreea-Cristina
The main objectives of this study were to investigate the relationship between the emotional intelligence of adolescents and the coping strategies used by them, as well as to determine the socio-demographic factors that have an impact on these coping mechanisms. The research sample included a number of 220 teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17, of which 100 from the urban environment, and 120 from the rural environment. The „Diagnosis of emotional intelligence” test developed by N. Hall, the Friedman Maturity Scale and the Cognitive-Emotional Coping Questionnaire CERQ were used as research tools. The main results conclude that adolescents with a high level of emotional intelligence especially use adaptive coping mechanisms - refocusing on planning, positive reassessment, positive refocusing and putting events into perspective and are less likely to use maladaptive coping mechanisms - self-blame, catastrophizing, rumination and blaming others. It was also found that socio-demographic factors influence differently the use of cognitive-emotional coping mechanisms.

    (CEP USM, 2023) Racu, Igor

    Emotional intelligence development techniques
    (CEP USM, 2024) Anton, Vica
Affectivity, as a particular part of psychic life, plays an imperatively important role in man’s relationship with the world and with others around him. Emotions are involved in building interpersonal relationships and conditioning harmony in groups and collectives. There is no social situation or communicative influence that is not predicated and evaluated affectively and that does not generate reactions and emotional states. Thus, depending on the nature, criteria and intensity of emotional experiences and states, emotions can be constructive or destructive. An important contribution in maintaining the functional nature of emotions and the performance of activities in stressful conditions is due to emotional stability, which combines the role of regulation and stabilization, allowing the maintenance of inner emotional balance, and the role of flexible adaptation to the changes that occur, without negative repercussions, caused by emotional reaction.

    (CEP USM, 2024) Vlad, Monica
During the school years, there were tests based on verbal and mathematical intelligence. The studies of recent years show that young people have several types of intelligence and you can even be geniuses in any of them; when these are combined, they offer the chance to achieve extraordinary things. Your main goal is to identify your intelligences or predominant intelligence; then use as much of that intelligence as you can in your field of activity or to achieve your goal. The richer your vocabulary, the more you will be respected and listened to by others. Verbal skills are considered a basic measure of intelligence.
