    This article is devoted to the problem of social competences training with opportunities for graduates to adapt to current labor market challenges. In the article the author presents several definitions of the “competence” notion, reproduces categories of competences (basic competences, key-competences, competences for employment, entrepreneurial competences, managerial competences, competences for life, social and civic competences); presents the definition of social competences and reveals the necessity of their training (among university graduates) in employment brink; proposes social competences training strategies in university education; analyzes the results of a survey regarding the knowledge of social competences among students and the necessity of their training.

    Today, the graduate education faces a number of problems to engage in empl oyment. These problems can be solved through the involvement / collaboration of both universities and employers. Lack of cooperation that has led to the existing gap, on one hand, the requirement of the company (educational beneficiaries) shall be guided to specific specialties and the labour market requires other specialties. Under these conditions, the higher education defines the objectives based on current and future requirements of society.

    Achievements of the past provide the only means available to understand the present, and if the past has been con-sidered until now a purpose in itself, then today's familiarity with the past becomes a means to understand the present, thus influencing the future. Without the perception of this relationship: past-present-future, the development of the person is in danger of being regarded as formal and inconsistent, but through the new prospective approach, the person will be educated considering the anticipation and the planning of a desirable future, instead of a future with chaotic changes.

    OPINIILE STUDENŢILOR PRIVIND FUNCŢIA CONDUCĂTOR (COORDONATOR) DE GRUP1

    L'article porte sur les résultats du sondage effectué parmi les étudiants de la faculté d’histoire et de psychologie (298 étudiants) concernant les fonctions du coordonnateur de groupe d’étudiants. L'auteur met en relief une partie des activités que les étudiants questionnés voudraient organiser ensemble avec leurs coordinateurs de groupe. On souligne aussi les difficultés que les étudiants doivent franchir et qui nécessitent «l’intervention» du coordinateur de groupe.
