The mixture of three broad-spectrum antimicrobials (amoxicillin, metronidazole, clarithromycin, AMC) signifi cantly inhibited glucose absorption in the isolated intestinal loop, mainly due to pronounced reduction of active, sodium-dependent glucosecotransporter 1-mediated transport. AMC also caused inhibition of fructose absorption.
