    NEW M(II) (M=MN, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pd) COORDINATIVE COMPOUNDS WITH 2-FORMYLPYRIDINE S-METHYL-ISOTHIOSEMICARBAZIDE

    The synthesis and structure of the new organic proligand 2-formylpyridine S-methyl-isothiosemicarbazone in a bi-protonated form (HL.2HCl) and its coordination compounds with Mn(II) - [Mn(HL)·Cl2], Co(III) - [CoL2]·ClO4, Ni(II) - [Ni(HL)2]·2ClO4, Cu(II) - [Cu(HL)Cl2]·(H2O), Zn(II) - [Zn(HL)2]·2(ClO4)·(H2O) and Pd(II) - [Pd(HL)·Cl]·Cl are reported. According to the X-ray investigation, the ligand has the molecular form of HL in the case of Mn(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Pd(II) compounds, and the deprotonated form L− in case of the Co(III) complex. The ligand coordinates to the metal ions via a N,N,N set of donors atoms in case of Zn(II), Cu(II) and Co(III). For Mn(II), the ligand coordinates via N,N donor atoms, whereas in the case of Pd(II) metal ions, the coordination sphere is N,N,S. This latter coordination mode (via S(CH3)) has been previously reported in case of salicylaldehyde S-alkyl-isothiosemicarbazones.

    SINTEZA 4-(2-PIRIDIL)TIOSEMICARBAZIDEI ŞI A UNOR 4-(2-PIRIDIL) TIOSEMICARBAZONE ŞI ACTIVITATEA ANTIPROLIFERATIVĂ A CELULELOR LEUCEMICE HL-60

    In the present work it was proposed a new method of synthesis of 4-(2-pyridyl) thiosemicarbazide and were synthesized eight 4-(2-pyridyl) thiosemicarbazons by the known method. The identity and purity of organic obtained compounds were demonstrated by chromatography, melting point, as well as by 13C and 1H NMR spectra. The synthesized substances were tested, studying the antiproliferative activity of HL-60 leukemia cells. The properties of compounds represent an interest for medicine in terms of expanding of an arsenal of inhibitors in human leukemia HL-60 myeloid, thiosemicarbazone manifest comparable activity with the one of such drugs as doxorubicin (Doxo) used in medicine for leukemia treatment.

    ACTIVIZAREA REACTIVILOR ORGANICI PRIN COORDINARE

    The paper represents a review of the publications devoted to the studies of the infl uence of the thiosemicarbazones and their analogues coordination on the reactivity of the ligands. There are discussed the ways of activation of every atoms from the thiosemicarbazide fragment, highlighted the types of the observed reactions where the activated atoms are involved, and the new transformations, which have not been described previously. The observed effects were putted in use for elaboration of new methods of organic fi ne syntheses, for obtaining substances for biological applications, new materials including molecular magnets, catalysts, analytical reagents for determination, preconcentration and separation of metal ions.
