    CRYSTAL STRUCTURES OF [N′-(2- OXIDOBENZYLIDENE)-N-(PROP-2-EN-1-YL)- CARBAMOHYDRAZONOTHIOATO(2-)](1,10- PHENANTHROLINE)COPPER AND [N′-(2- OXIDOBENZYLIDENE)-N-(PROP-2-EN-1-YL)- CARBAMOHYDRAZONOTHIOATO(2-)](2,2′- BIPYRIDINE)COPPER HEMIHYDRATES

    The crystal structures and biological properties of [N′-(2-oxidobenzylidene)-N-(prop-2-en-1-yl)-carbamohydrazonothioato(2-)](1,10-phenanthroline)copper hemihydrate [Cu(1,10-Phen)(L)]·0.5H2O (I) and [N′-(2-oxidobenzylidene)-N-(prop-2-en-1-yl)-carbamohydrazonothioato(2-)](2,2′-bipyridine)copper hemihydrate [Cu(2,2′-BPy)(L)]·0.5H2O (II), where Н2L is 2-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-N-(prop-2-en-1-yl)hydrazinecarbothioamide, are determined. The asymmetric unit of the unit cell in the crystal structures of I and II contains a copper complex with bidentate amine and a ligand coordinated by the azomethine nitrogen atom, the deprotonated phenolic oxygen atom, and the sulfur atom in the thiol form. The coordination polyhedron of the copper atom in compounds I and II is a distorted tetragonal pyramid. Obtained coordination compounds I and II exhibit antimicrobial and antifungal activities and have minimum inhibitory concentration and bactericidal concentration values in a range of 1.5-500 µg/mL. The study of the antioxidant activity shows that compounds I and II are less active than uncoordinated thiosemicarbazone H2L, but more active than trolox used in medical practice.

    SINTEZA COMBINAȚIILOR COORDINATIVE CU UNELE METALE 3D ÎN BAZA N(4)-(4-BENZOAT DE ETIL) TIOSEMICARBAZONE ALE DERIVAȚILOR ALDEHIDEI SALICILICE. PROPRIETĂȚI ANTIMICROBIENE, ANTIFUNGICE ȘI ANTIOXIDATIVE

    În lucrare este descrisă sinteza a 4 substanțe organice noi N(4)-(4-benzoat de etil) tiosemicarbazone ale derivaților aldehidei salicilice și a 29 combinații coordinative ale Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) și Co(III). Structurile substanțelor sintetizate au fost confirmate cu ajutorul spectroscopiei IR și RMN, analizei elementale, magnetochimiei și, în cazul [Ni(L2) DMF]·DMF, difracției cu raze X. Studiul activității antimicrobiene s-a dovedit a fi în limita concentrației 0,125-0,500 mg/mL, iar activitate antifungică a înregistrat cel mai bun rezultat pe Cryptococcus neoformans la complexul {Ni(HL1)Cl}•C2H5OH•3H2O, unde CMI=0,016 mg/mL, fiind mai activ decât substanța martor Nistatina. Cele mai bune rezultate ale testului ABTS au fost înregistrate la ligandul H2L3(7) și la complexul {Ni(HL3) NO3}•H2O (7.8), care la concentrația 100 µM inhibă 54,4% din radicali ABTS•+.

    SINTEZA ȘI PROPRIETĂȚILE ANTIBACTERIENE ȘI ANTIFUNGICE AL E COMPUȘILOR COORDINATIVI AI Fe (III) CU 4 - CICLOHEXILTIOSEMICARBAZONA 4 - BENZOIL - 3 - METIL - 1 - FENIL - 2 - PIRAZOLIN - 5 - ONĂ

    În lucrare este relatată metoda de sinteză a trei combinații coordinative noi ale Fe (III) cu ciclohexiltiosemicarbazona 4 - benzoil - 3 - metil - 1 - fen il - 2 - pirazolin - 5 - onă. Activitatea antimicrobiană a compușilor studiați este moderată. Compusul coordi nativ [Fe(HL) 2 ]NO 3 ·H 2 O a demonstrat cea mai bună activitate față de tulpina de fungi Cryptococcus neoformans. Prin urmare, activitatea acestui compus este de 36 de ori mai bună comparativ cu nistatina; de 18 și 2 ori mai bună decât miconasolul și , respectiv , fluconazolul, preparte utilizate actualmente în profilaxia și tratamentul infecțiilor cauzate de aceste microorganisme .

    IN VITRO ANTILEUKEMIA, ANTIBACTERIAL AND ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITIES OF SOME 3D METAL COMPLEXES: CHEMICAL SYNTHESIS AND STRUCTURE – ACTIVITY RELATIONSHIPS

    The present paper describes the synthesis, characterization and in vitro biological evaluation screening of different classes (ammoniacates, dioximates, carboxylates, semi- and thiosemicarbazidates) of Co(II), Co(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), Mn(II), Zn(II) and Fe(III) complexes. Schiff bases were obtained from the reaction of some salicyl aldehydes with, respectively, furoylhydrazine, benzoylhydrazine, semicarbazide, thiosemicarbazide and S-methylthiosemicarbazide to give tridentate ligands containing ONO, ONS or ONN as donor atoms. The synthetic metal complexes are of various geometrical and electronic structures, thermodynamic and thermal stabilities, and magnetic and conductance properties. All complexes, except those of Cu, are octahedral. Some Cu, Co and Mn compounds have a dimeric or a polymeric structure. The composition and structure of complexes were analysed by elemental analysis, IR and 1 H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopies, and magnetochemical, thermoanalytical and molar conductance measurements. All ligands and metal complexes were tested as inhibitors of human leukemia (HL-60) cells growth, and the most potent, the Cu(II) complexes, have been also tested for their in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities. Structure-activity relationships were carried out.
