In our article we try to analyse the concept of personal affirmation from different theoreti
cal perspective. The authors are interested tounderstand the central elements of personal affirmation: the narcissistic component, the process of personal knowing, personal development. The conclussions of the article are: 1)the personal affirmation is preceded by a difficult process of psychological work and can include the positive and negativefunctioning; 2) a positive finality of personal affirmation need a very suportive and ‚open-minded’’ context, în which the personality have the oportunity to descover his true self.
