The article presents definitions of volunteering, an analysis of the current situation regarding volunteering in Moldova together with a case study of Winrock Moldova NGO, including a comparative study between Moldovan volunteers and Peace Corps volunteers. The goal of the research is to evaluate the contribution of national and international volunteers of Moldova to social development and elaborating recommendations to stimulate volunteering activities among students in order to solve the main social problems.
