The article highlights the specific of using activism as central element of defensive structure in depression. The specific aspects of activist functioning are present in the analysis of the clinical material, which reveals features of patients with priority use of activism as a defense mechanism for depression. Core elements of the psychotherapeutic
approach are described, these being the recommended ones in such cases.
