If in the archaic and traditional societies, marriage was a very prosaic business that met the interests of the family, now, because of economic, political, socio-cultural factors, the choice of a life partner is becoming more a problem of the concerned individual. Whether we admit it or not, each of us made a list, most frequently imaginary, with the potential qualities of a person who could be beside us, a list that refers to appearance, financial status, personality features, beliefs and values. Most often we tend to be attracted to people with interests and values close to ours.Item INFLUENŢA FACTORILOR SOCIOCULTURALI ASUPRA FAMILIILOR MIXTE(CEP USM, 2008) Platon, Carolina; Crasnojon-Laba, InaAt the present stage, the phenomenon of migration took such a scale that it threatens to transform the European countries into multi-ethnic societies. Ethnic mixed marriages raise a wide range of questions related to parents' cultural identities, being a meeting spot of two national cultures. Each ethnic community elaborates its own representations on how they should be and tends to keep this resulted image in the national conscience, to display it in traditions, actions and relations with the representatives of their own people. In our multi-ethnic society, marriages between representatives of different ethnic groups are a natural thing. Henceforth, there results the necessity to learn about the psychological particularities of cohabitation, both as individual and social tasks.Item INFLUENŢA STEREOTIPURILOR ÎN ALEGEREA PARTENERULUI CONJUGAL LA DIFERITE ETNII(CEP USM, 2007) Crasnojon-Laba, InaThe foundation of ethnical stereotypes opposite to conjugal partner and stereotype’s building opposite to role’s distribution in a couple, presents the topical interest of study I have made. Surveys were made to elucidate men’s preferences about women. Men usually take into account women’s attractive frames; but women’s preferences were less studied. Also there are no studies about their marital status, which stereotypes are their before marriage and after; how the man of their dreams looks like. Each woman, irrespectively on her status, has an image of what she wants from a man. It’s interesting that once they get old they change their minds. Women, who have been married for 15-25 years, appreciate clever, professional and family men, meanwhile those who are not married prefer rich and well-dressed men.
