Item Bibliotecile publice în contextul integrării europene a Republicii Moldova(CEP USM, 2024) Silivestru, DianaThe paper presents recent initiatives carried out by the Ministry of Culture in order to improve the legislative and normative framework in the field of librarianship and information science. The article details the activity of public libraries and the impact of European integration on them, highlighting the essential role of the Ministry of Culture in promoting European cultural values and modernizing libraries. Attention is drawn to the most important national and international policy documents and programs that guide the development of libraries in Moldova, emphasizing their importance for alignment with European standards. The article examines the general research methods used in the field of librarianship and information science, with an emphasis on the comparative analysis of public policies and the national regulatory framework. International and national policy documents, as well as the national normative framework that refers to the integration process of the Republic of Moldova through the prism of libraries, served as materials.Item CONSERVAREA DIGITALĂ A PATRIMONIULUI CULTURAL LA BIBLIOTECA NAȚIONALĂ A REPUBLICII MOLDOVA(Academia de Ştiinţe a Moldovei, 2022-09-27) Silivestru, DianaThe article highlights an ambitious digitization project through which the national cultural heritage, owned by the BNRM, is valued. The paper presents the project obtained as a non-refundable grant offered by Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency. The grant offered as part of the cultural projects supported by Japan is intended to improve the equipment of the National Library of the Republic of Moldova with digitization equipment, which will contribute to the preservation of resources in virtual format, ensuring virtual access and the long-term preservation of cultural values. The project will demonstrate the concept of reusing and enriching the content of the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, the most important heritage holding institutions in Chisinau and other 37 district and city libraries throughout the republic. The article also mentions the performance of the BNRM in the creation, development, preservation and valorization of digital content from the Republic of Moldova – thanks to the project called the Moldavian National Digital Library – which represents the result of the cooperation and integration actions and works carried out by the BNRM on a national and European level.
