Bibliotecile publice în contextul integrării europene a Republicii Moldova

Abstract

The paper presents recent initiatives carried out by the Ministry of Culture in order to improve the legislative and normative framework in the field of librarianship and information science. The article details the activity of public libraries and the impact of European integration on them, highlighting the essential role of the Ministry of Culture in promoting European cultural values and modernizing libraries. Attention is drawn to the most important national and international policy documents and programs that guide the development of libraries in Moldova, emphasizing their importance for alignment with European standards. The article examines the general research methods used in the field of librarianship and information science, with an emphasis on the comparative analysis of public policies and the national regulatory framework. International and national policy documents, as well as the national normative framework that refers to the integration process of the Republic of Moldova through the prism of libraries, served as materials.
