(Lexon-Prim, 2023) Xenofontov, Ion Valer; Dragnev, Demir
Pavel Sovetov, with studies in the legal field, although he did not have a classical training in the field of history, manifested himself fully in this scientific field. Soviet medievalist V. Koroliuk characterized Pavel Sovetov as “a brilliant self-taught man”. He is considered the founder of the scientific school of the typology of medieval society in Moldova and South-Eastern Europe, a consideration that allowed the avoidance of unilateral treatment in the perimeter of historical research. Among the topics addressed were the socio-economic dynamics of law in medieval Moldova. It is significant that it has theoretical interpretations regarding the typology of feudal society as a whole, and those regarding Moldova in particular. The foundation of these visions lies in the connection between state and private property. For the first time, it presented a new model of agrarian development and the medieval social structure in Moldova.
