    The actuality of the subject. This article discusses the main changes necessary to Law no. 131 of03.07.2015 regarding public procurement based on the EU Association Agreement. The paper analyzes the objectives of developing and improving the sustainable public procurement process. Next, is presented the definition of economic security, in the field of public procurement and the degree of influence of legislative changes on the economic security of the procurement system is revealed, by increasing transparency. The research topic focuses on ensuring the economic security and transparency of the public procurement process in the context of the harmonization of the legislation of the Republic of Moldova with the EU Directives.

    In recent decades, the concern for the problems of environment and sustainability has grown significantly, and sustainable public procurement has become a global priority. Inefficient use of resources and lack of waste control globally have a negative impact on the environmental footprint. The ecological debt to the planet is increasing, which means that humanity has exhausted environmental resources before they can be replenished. Thus, the analysis and development of sustainable public procurement are essential to build a sustainable future.

    The concept of sustainable public procurement is a relatively recently developed one, but increasingly present, both at the legislative level and in the practice of the procurement process. Sustainable development and the promotion of innovation represent development priorities both globally and for the Republic of Moldova. The main objective of public procurement is for the procurement to bring considerable benefit to society in view of long-term sustainable develop-ment, not only on the basis of the lowest price. Although laudable, current developments cannot fully address the main social, economic and environmental challenges. The Republic of Moldova demonstrates a clear commitment to support sustainable and innovative public procurement, both politically and in those reflected in different support mechanisms. At the same time, the na-tional innovation system remains in its infancy. The research theme focuses on improving the management of public finances through the development of the sustainable public procurement system.

    Electric cars are becoming more popular in the Republic of Moldova. There are multiple advantages to promote the use of electric cars in the Republic of Moldova, including low consumption, reduction of CO2 emissions in the transport sector and ensuring a cleaner environment in densely populated localities in the country. At present, there is already a charging infrastructure for electric cars and with significant growth potential in the coming years. At the same time, the purchase of an electric car is already coupled with some tax benefits, such as the lack of application of import excise duties and the lack of tax for road use. Promoting the use of electric cars must also be coupled with the use of electricity from renewable resources

    The thesis is dedicated to the study of challenges and opportunities in the process of implementing sustainable public procurement in the Republic of Moldova, the topicality of the topic being conditioned by the awareness of the dimensions of sustainable, social, economic and environmental procurement. Developing sustainable procurement and promoting the green economy are development priorities both globally and locally. The reform of the public procurement system is one of the key directions for modernizing the administrative sector of the Republic of Moldova.
