REFLECTIONS ON THE MEDIATION AND NEGOTIATION PROCESS IN THE CASE OF FROZEN CONFLICTS IN EASTERN EUROPE
    (Editura Pontos, 2022-03-04) Bevziuc, Victoria
Reflections on the mediating process upon the frozen conflicts, in principle, has led to the idea regarding the confrontation with Russia which, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, felt largely excluded from European issues, although its role in Europe’s political and economic life remains particularly important. Geopolitical clashes at the strategic level over the 20-21st centuries have created a situation of profound mistrust between Russia and the US, Russia and NATO, Russia and the EU and new lines of rift between the European integration areas. At the macro level, we can talk about some fundamental consequences for the issue of regional security. In fact, the mediating process can be rushed up by the governments of each state. The interests of each state to settle up the frozen conflict can start the mediating process.

CONFLICTELE ÎNGHEȚATE DIN SPAȚIUL POST-SOVIETIC: REPERCURSIUNI ASUPRA SECURITĂŢII NAŢIONALE A STATELOR IMPLICATE
(CEP USM, 2022-05-14) Bencheci, Marcel; Boroda, Dumitru; Cernețchi, Eduard; Kurtskhalia, Alexander
Developments related to the dispute settlement process in the Republic of Moldova and Georgia highlight quite clearly the support of separatism by the Russian Federation, which has, in fact, a triple status: a state that encouraged the outbreak of separatism and which actually controls separatist regions in terms of military, economic, financial, etc.; mediator in the negotiation process and guarantor of the agreements reached; directly interested in the final way of resolving the conflict.

The Republic of Moldova faces one of the worst problems for the integrity of contemporary states, the presence of a frozen conflict on the territory of the state. We must emphasize that this problem is a negative part of the country's image in the system of international relations, which sometimes triggers reverse processes in the establishment and development of multilateral and bilateral relations. It is obvious that the government in Chisinau and the Transnistrian leadership need to be involved in solving this major problem for the companies on the left and right of the Dniester.

The purpose of this research is the theoretical-conceptual and empirical analysis of the problem of freezing the conflict in the post-Soviet space, based on the conflict in Transnistria. Proposed objectives: studying the historiography of frozen conflict research, synthesizing the main conceptual aspects of frozen conflicts, researching the forms and methods of their management, analyzing the evolution of frozen conflict in the Republic of Moldova, etc. This topic is current and has been the subject of several political studies. For these reasons, an attempt was made to achieve a complex, two-dimensional synthesis in premise-impact correlations. At the same time, the research was conditioned by the tangents of two socio-human sciences: sociology and political science. The novelty of the study consists in the fact that a complex synthesis was made on the influence of the accession process on the entire political and social system. The conclusions formulated in the research result allow to evaluate, at fair value, the scientific novelty of the paper.

After 77 years, Europe is in the middle of a new war, using exactly the same model of destruction: terrorizing civilians, indiscriminate bombing, using the media to undo the truth through lies, violating international treaties, incapacity of the League of Nations (today UN), to stop the illegal and unprovoked invasion of one nation against another, terror by starvation, rape and war crimes. The war in Ukraine generated changes with very long-term effects, in a world rearrangement that was difficult to anticipate, before the outbreak of the conflict, politically and economically, it has accelerated the changes and made the difficult decisions that would have been taken in years, to be adopted within weeks. Their effects will redraw the political and geopolitical landscape for many decades to come. Today, in the context of the war in Ukraine and the latest news, including from the US Secret Service, which believes that Putin's war in Ukraine is likely to become "more unpredictable and intense" in the coming months and may extends from the Donbas to Transnistria, no political force, especially the country's leadership, can afford to treat it as an ordinary issue. Political and especially economic isolation, through the introduction of unprecedented sanctions, the isolation of global financial markets, the boycott of all Russian goods, especially gas and oil, may become a key mechanism for Russia to stop the war and return to the table of negotiations. The antagonism of the belligerent camps is about to reach its peak, and the hatred infiltrated between the peoples is already at the level of DNA. Constructive negotiations are becoming more and more difficult to achieve. We pay the price for re
