International experience shows that some of the determining factors for administrati-
ve-territorial reform are the political will to reform and the acceptance of the population
to reform. The purpose of this article is to present the vision of the political parties in the
Republic of Moldova on the administrative-territorial reform, using the programmatic documents approved and promoted in the political activity. It also presents the results of a survey carried out on a representative sample of representatives of local public authorities, in order to highlight their concerns and positions on the reform issue.
