    The proposed article addresses some theoretical and empirical aspects of the impact of foreign policy on the national interest. The subject is examined in the light of the capacities of the State of the Republic of Moldova to ensure a rational and consistent domestic and for - eign policy capable of consolidating and adequately promoting the national interest. The author analyzes the positive and problematic realities of the influence of foreign policy on the supreme values of the country - sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, security. It is also under assessment the issue of priorities and vectors of orientation of national interest - to the West or to the East.
