    The research defnes the concept of the regional development, methodically cultivated in European states with the support of the European Union and emphasizes establishment of this policy in the Republic of Moldova. Also, a range of general and sector recommendations are formulated, whose implementation would redefne regional development policy in the Republic of Moldova and boost territorial growth and development in an external periphery of the European Union.
