Item TENDINȚE DIN CADRUL MEDIULUI ACTUAL DE SECURITATE ȘI IMPLICAȚII ASUPRA SECURITĂȚII NAȚIONALE(CEP USM, 2024) Albu, Natalia; Ținevsch, IonTrends in the current security environment are determined by the multitude of international and regional risks and threats with implications for national security. Thus, an insufficient knowledge about the regional or international security environment makes states more vulnerable, on the contrary, it improves the ability to react to threats. In this framework, in the given article it is mentioned that the analysis of the security environment and its implications for national security is often found in strategic documents. From the perspective of the Republic of Moldova, the regional security environment, on the one hand, amplifies certain vulnerabilities of the country, on the other hand, it offers opportunities to strengthen the national defense. The war on the territory of the neighboring state affects the Republic of Moldova from the perspective of resolving the Transnistrian conflict, given the role of mediators of these two states within the 5+2 negotiation mechanism. An important element of the national security environment is related to the Republic of Moldova obtaining the status of a candidate country for EU accession.
