Abstract

The study explores the complex interplay between religious beliefs, societal attitudes, and individual experiences regarding abortion in Moldova. Through interviews with experts and participants in feminist marches, it examines the influence of religion, social norms, and gender roles on perceptions and decisions related to abortion. Findings suggest a significant influence of religious beliefs on attitudes toward abortion, with stigma and social pressure often associated with it. Changes in societal norms, access to information, and medical technologies contribute to shifting perspectives. The study highlights the need sexual education, access to reproductive health services, and destigmatization efforts to empower women in making informed decisions. It underscores the importance of a nuanced understanding of cultural and religious contexts in shaping policies and interventions related to reproductive rights.
