Abstract
In the article is analyzed briefly the life and the activity of the French King Louis
the 9th, whose reign had important consequences for the further history of France.
Especially due to the continuation of the unification of the country, and improvement
of the legislative and administrative systems, and foundation of the Parliament. In the
article is emphasized the fact that he was a true christian, this is why he organised
and got involved in two crusades. The goals of these crusades was to release the
Holy Sepulchre and to spread Christianity in the muslim world. Purposes which were
proven to be impossible to achieve.
