Abstract

The main objective of the article is to understand and document emerging trends in academic libraries for the period 2010-2024. These analyses are necessary to guide librarians, managers, and policymakers in making informed decisions aimed at enhancing the role and impact of libraries in higher education. The research methods include the analysis of relevant documents and evaluations by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). The results indicate a significant transformation of libraries influenced by technological advancements and social changes. The main trends identified include digital transformation, the integration of artificial intelligence, and a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of remote services and digital resources. To effectively implement these trends, librarians need to develop skills in technology, data management, teaching, collaboration, leadership, adaptability, and innovation.
