Abstract

The study examined the overall activity of antioxidants, oxidases, and catalases in leaf extracts of pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) trees from different ecological zones (northern, central, and southern) of the Republic of Moldova. Results showed that antioxidant activity varies based on thermal dosage, recovery period, and ecological conditions. In the northern zone, overall antioxidant and oxidase activity was initially high after heat shock but decreased over time, whereas catalase activity remained consistently high. This suggests that northern pedunculate oaks have significant adaptive mechanisms to mitigate oxidative stress.
