Abstract
In the context of expanding the online learning process, the process of assessing professional skills receives special connotations. In this context, new requirements for the design and implementation of the assessment strategy, in particular the formative assessment, are required. In this article we present the concept of formative assessment in the online environment, highlighting the principles and requirements for effective implementation of formative assessment in university education.
