Abstract

Determination of bacterial enzyme activity is widely studied in recent years both through biochemical and molecular analysis. Catalase, peroxidase and superoxide dismutase are considered an important antioxidant enzymes that prevents cellular damage by the action of free radicals. The researches have been carried out to study catalase activity in biomass of some bacterial strains isolated from the lakes of the “la Izvor” park. The results of the study show that out of 20 strains 17 are catalase-producing bacteria, where Bacillus safensis CnMn-BB-26 and Pseudomonas poae CnMn-Ps-09 are active strains with values of 228,94 and 270,16 mmol/min/ mg protein, respectively, Bacillus velezensis CnMn-BB-14 produced the highest value of 380,68 mmol/min/mg protein.
