Abstract

In the 21st century, information circulates at an accelerated pace. Information represents a vital necessity, playing an essential role in shaping opinions, making decisions, and ensuring the proper functioning of contemporary society. Throughout human evolution, the individual’s need to be informed has emerged. The digital era has brought new ways of accessing and processing information. In the era of contemporary digital technologies, anyone can create content professional journalists, influencers, as well as all users of social media networks. The most widely used platform at present is TikTok. Journalists working within the editorial offices of media institutions are subject to clear standards of professional conduct, adhering to journalistic ethics and deontological codes. A content creator, however, is not necessarily a professional journalist. TikTok delivers content based on user behavior, which means that information consumers on TikTok do not necessarily receive the most relevant informative materials, but rather those with emotional impact, simplified and accessible language, sometimes vulgar and uncensored, fragmented into sequences of a maximum of 60 to 90 seconds. The narrative on TikTok often becomes a combination of information and disinformation.
