Abstract

The implementation of the recommendations of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities by the Republic of Moldova has had various developments over time. In general, the Republic of Moldova has made significant progress in the field of the rights of persons with disabilities, but important challenges remain. Some of the UN Committee's recommendations include improving access to social and health services for people with disabilities, ensuring their inclusion in education and the labor market, as well as guaranteeing respect for the right to autonomy and independent living. Over time, the Republic of Moldova adopted specific legislation and took measures to improve the situation of people with disabilities. However, the effective implementation of these measures sometimes remains limited due to limited resources, lack of awareness and adequate infrastructure. Furthermore, monitoring and reporting on progress in the implementation of the recommendations remain points of continuing interest for international bodies and non-governmental organizations.
