Abstract

Spanish scorzonera and oat root belong to valuable delicate root crops that contain inulin. A significant increase in the incidence of type 2 diabetes in the world, and in Ukraine in particular, contributes to the growth of demand for root crops. Taking into account the lack of assortment of both types of plants in Ukraine, intensification of breeding work to create competitive, high-yielding varieties of Spanish scorzonera and oat root in Ukraine is an actual direction of research. At the Research Station "Mayak" IVMG NAAS of Ukraine, new varieties were created: spanish scorzonera Syla and oat root Promethey.
