Abstract

The reintegration into society of persons released form places of detention is a process in which the whole of society must be involved, because judgment and stigmatization hinder the reintegration process. The purpose of the probation service is to teach and help the offender to live in the community without committing crimes, which is essentially different form penitentiares where the offender has no contact with the community.
