Abstract
,Regulamentul privind instituirea administraţiei provizorii a
economică a Basarabiei.
In the first decades after the annexation of Bessarabia to the R ussian Empire, the Greek ethnic groups enjoyed a privileged status on this territory. The privileged ethnic status was confirmed by the "Regulation regarding the establishment of the provisional administration of Bessarabia in 1812" and the "Regulation of the administrative organization of Bessarabia from April 29, 1818". The documents gave Bessarabia limited and provisional autonomy within the Empire and kept the privileges obtained by the Greeks in the previous period The application of the “Regulations on Trade with Bessarabia of February 17, 1825” and the “Guild Regulations of 1824” stimulated the presence of allogeneic elements, including the Greek one in the economic life of Bessarabia. The privileged status of the Greeks was also determined by the geopolitical interests of the Russian Empire in the South- Eastern Europe, by using the Greek community as a tool in promoting its policy in the Balkans.
