Abstract

The prevention and combating of domestic violence are part of the national policy to protect and support the family and it also represents an important issue related to public health. For the consolidation, protection and support of the family, for the ensurance of all fundamental legislative principles, ackowledging the fact that the equality of gender between women and men constitutes the key-element in combating violence against women, the fact that domestic violence affects women in a disproportional way, but also the fact that children and men can also be victims of violence.
