Abstract

The writings of Marcus Aurelius serve as a guide for self-discipline, virtue, and the management of emotions, all of which are pillars of Stoic philosophy. As an emperor, Marcus Aurelius endeavored to govern his empire according to Stoic principles. He promoted the idea of living in accordance with nature and accepting fate with serenity. His writings reflect his inner struggle to remain upright and balanced in the face of political and personal challenges.
