dc.description.abstract | The paper aims to justify the necessity of studying the concept of «identity» in contrast to the criticism of the term in contemporary academic literature. The methodological basis for solving this problem is conceptual history by Germann Lübbe. Viewing the concept of «identity» through Lübbe’s methodological lens allows us to identify the reasons for the identity theory to turn to the history of concepts, resolve the difficulties that arise when they are combined, outline the general understanding of identity that emerges from studying it through the history of concepts, and also to map out the trajectory for further research. Thus, the paper emphasizes the importance and relevance of «identity» in contemporary scholarly discourse. | en |
