ROLUL PLANTELOR MEDICINALE ONCOPROTECTOARE ȘI AL REMEDIILOR PE BAZA LOR ÎN TERAPII ANTICANCER

Abstract

În articol au fost elucidate unele mecanisme de acțiune relevante ale plantelor medicinale oncoprotectoare și ale re- mediilor pe baza lor în terapii complementare anticancer. Având în vedere efectele secundare, toxicitatea și costurile mari, inerente terapiilor anticancer tradiționale, rămâne a fi actuală identificarea de noi compuși din surse naturale, inclusiv plante medicinale sigure și eficiente împotriva chimiorezistenței și împotriva cancerului, ceea ce oferă perspective pro- mițătoare în tratarea acestei maladii. Apariția și perfecționarea noilor tehnologii, cum ar fi tehnicile genetice pentru pro- ducerea de metaboliți secundari ai plantelor, sinteza combinatorică, precum și identificarea compușilor derivați în mod natural din plantele medicinale oncoprotectoare și proprietățile acestora le fac ținte pentru potențiale tratamente anticancer. În același timp, din cauza utilizării crescute a produselor pe bază de plante de către pacienții cu cancer, trebuie acordată o mai mare atenție utilizării lor în combinație cu agenții anticancer.

In the article, some relevant mechanisms of action of oncoprotective medicinal plants and remedies based on them in complementary anticancer therapies were elucidated. Given the side effects, toxicity, and high costs inherent in trade- tional anticancer therapies, the identification of new compounds from natural sources, including safe and effective medi- cinal plants against chemoresistance and cancer, remains topical, offering promising perspectives in treating this disease. The emergence and improvement of new technologies, such as genetic techniques for the production of plant secondary metabolites, combinatorial synthesis, as well as the identification of naturally derived compounds from oncoprotective medicinal plants and their properties, make them targets for potential anticancer treatments. At the same time, due to the increased use of herbal products by cancer patients, more attention should be paid to their use in combination with anti- cancer agents.
