Abstract
În ultimii ani, drept urmare a dezvoltării tehnologiei digitale, convergența media s-
a impus ca un curent dominant în jurnalism. Aceasta este definită de numeroși cercetători ca proces inovator care presupune o abordare nouă a selectării,
producției și difuzării de știri, prin utilizarea tuturor tipurilor de media accesibile. Cu toate acestea, nu există o definiție agreată universal a acestui fenomen, devenind asfel un concept cu semnificații multiple. Unii cercetători au descris convergența ca amestec între mass-media și industriile telecomunicațiilor și computerelor, alții conceptualizează convergența ca proces în continuă evoluție, care depinde de capacitatea jurnaliștilor de a se adapta noilor schimbări. Cert este ca fenomenul convergență modifică relația dintre tehnologie, industrie, piețe, genuri existente, precum și logica operațională a instituțiilor mass-mediei și cea prin care consumatorul tratează informațiile.
In recent years, following the development of digital technology, media convergence has emerged as a dominant trend in journalism. It is defined by many researchers as a discovery process that requires a new approach to selection, production and dissemination of news, using all media available. However, there is no universally agreed definition of this phenomenon, becoming a concept with multiple meanings. Some researchers have described convergence as a mixture between media and telecommunications and computer industries, others conceptualize convergence as a evolving process that depends on the ability of journalists to adapt to new changes. The fact is that the phenomenon of convergence change the relationship between technology, industry, market, existing genres, as well as operational logic of media institutions and that which the consumer treat the information.
