Abstract

This article addresses a current topic, taking into account the policies of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, in which a major priority is internationalization, by supporting universities in attracting foreign students, as part of the implementation of the «Higher Education in Moldova» project, in order to ensure the sustainability of the educational system. Thus, we set ourselves the goal of analyzing the state of higher education in physical education and sport in the Republic of Moldova in this regard, and for this we outlined the major diagnostic objective by selecting the main research methods such as SWOT analysis, analysis of documents and statistical data on higher education in the Republic of Moldova and Romania.As a result, it is worth noting that the implementation of an efficient internationalization model, the reduction of risks and weaknesses, and promotion at the national and international levels will contribute to increasing institutional attractiveness and the number of foreign students interested in the field.
