MOLDOVA: ŢARA OPORTUNITĂŢILOR PIERDUTE

Abstract

The present article analyses Republic of Moldova during the period of independence through the prism of SWOT analysis. The author comes to the conclusion that Republic of Moldova did not value most of the opportunities, neglected numerous threats and did not pay appropriate attention to the weak points. All these have contributed to slowing the transition of Republic of Moldova towards the market economy and democratic society. The author points out that the threats confronted by the country are similar to the „Democle’s sword” and insists on the necessity of undertaking concrete measures in order to improve the situation.
