PERSPECTIVELE ADERĂRII ALTOR STATE LA UNIUNEA EUROPEANĂ

Abstract

Articolul examinează evoluția Uniunii Europene (UE) de-a lungul decadelor, evidențiind patru etape distincte de constituire a comunității. De la formarea primei comunități europene în anii ‘50 și până la extinderea semnificativă din 2004, procesul de integrare a adus beneficii economice și sociale membrilor săi. Criteriile de aderare au fost stabilite la Copenhaga în 1993, punând accent pe respectarea democrației și a economiei de piață. Extinderea UE în Balcanii de Vest și Turcia a avut un impact pozitiv în promovarea stabilității și a valorilor europene. Totuși, articolul recunoaște și provocările cu care se confruntă UE, atât pe plan intern, cât și extern. Concluzionând, articolul subliniază importanța continuării procesului de extindere pentru a consolida pacea și prosperitatea în Europa.This article examines the evolution of the European Union (EU) over the decades, highlighting four distinct stages in the formation of the community. From the establishment of the first European community in the 1950s to the significant expansion in 2004, the integration process has brought economic and social benefits to its members. The accession criteria were established in Copenhagen in 1993, emphasizing the importance of democracy and a market economy. The EU’s expansion into the Western Balkans and Turkey has had a positive impact in promoting stability and European values. However, the article acknowledges the challenges facing the EU, both internally and externally. In conclusion, the article emphasizes the importance of continuing the expansion process to strengthen peace and prosperity in Europe.
