Abstract

The goal of countries seeking to join the European Union is to benefit from the economic, political, and social advantages of belonging to a strong and integrated regional bloc. Each country aspires to prosperity, the development of various economic sectors, and the well-being of its population, which can be achieved by utilizing natural resources and receiving various forms of aid from other states. In general, EU membership can bring many benefits to member states, but it also entails costs and responsibilities, such as compliance with EU standards and regulations and contributions to the EU budget. The admission process involves several stages, including establishing an association agreement, negotiating the terms of accession, adopting and implementing EU legislation, as well as a series of assessments and periodic reports to verify compliance with accession criteria.
