MAREA NEAGRĂ ÎN POLITICA EXTERNĂ A REPUBLICII MOLDOVA

Abstract

De-a lungul secolelor, regiunea bazinului Mării Negre a reprezentat avanscena în care s-au perindat evenimente istorice cu impact asupra popoarelor care s-au aflat în acest spațiu. Geopolitic, geostrategic și geoeconomic, importanța regiunii Bazinului Mării Negre consta în faptul că această regiune reprezenta, pe de o parte, spațiul confruntării intereselor marilor imperii (roman, bizantin, otoman, rus), iar, pe de altă parte, reprezenta o punte de legătură, o frontieră, o zonă tampon și de tranzit. În perioada modernă, această importanță a regiunii nu doar s-a păstrat, dar și s-a extins datorită noilor actori care s-au alăturat evenimentelor din regiune, lărgind spectrul de interese prezente aici și contribuind la o structură complexă de relații regionale. Acest context impune selectarea unei strategii propice din partea Republicii Moldova în abordarea acestei regiuni în politica sa externă.

For centuries, the Black Sea region represented the stage on which historic events transpired with impact over the people that lived in this space. Geopolitically, in a geostrategic sense and geoeconomically the importance of the Black Sea region consists in the fact that this region represented, on one hand, the stage for confrontation of the interests of the great empires (Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, Russian), on the other hand, represented a contact point, a frontier, a buffer and transit zone. In modern times, this importance of the region not only remained but also expanded due to the new actors which joined the events in the region, widening the range of interests present as well as contributing to a complex structure of regional relations. This context imposes the selection of an appropriate strategy on part of the Republic of Moldova in approaching this region in its foreign policy.
