SITUAȚIA MINORITĂȚILOR RELIGIOASE DIN SUDUL BASARABIEI ÎN PERIOADA 1856-1878. (CAZUL COMUNITĂȚII LIPOVENEȘTI)

Abstract

Istoria sudului Basarabiei în perioada 1856-1878 a fost subiectul unor studii nu o singură dată, doar că acestea s-au axat cu precădere asupra problematicii politico-economico-sociale, referindu-se preponderent la majoritatea ortodoxă a populației. Din aceste considerente materialul prezentat se axează pe o altă dimensiune, focusându-se asupra unei mino- rități religioase din zonă, și anume – cea a lipovenilor. În articol vom încerca să facem o paralelă între politica promovată de către recent încoronatul țar Alexandru al II-lea față de cultul ortodocșilor de rit vechi din Imperiul Rus și cea a administrației românești, care a fost instaurată în sudul Basarabiei. Vom face o analiză, pe de o parte, a atitudinii Bisericii Ortodoxe Române față de lipoveni, iar, pe de alta – a autorităților laice, care se conduceau după prevederile Tratatului de pace de la Paris.

The history of southern Bessarabia in the period 1856-1878 was the subject of studies more than once, only that they focused mainly on the political-economic-social issues, referring predominantly to the Orthodox majority of the population. For these reasons, the presented material focuses on another dimension, namely focusing on a religious minority in the area – that of the Lipovians. The article will try to draw a parallel between the policy promoted by the recently crowned Tsar Alexander II towards the cult of the Old Rite Orthodox in the Russian Empire and the Romanian administration, which was established in southern Bessarabia. An analysis is made, on the one hand, of the Romanian Orthodox Church vis-à-vis the Lipovians, and on the other, of the lay authorities, who governed themselves according to the provisions of the Paris peace treaty.
