Competențele de comunicare în domeniul infodocumentar

Abstract

The article addresses the importance of communication skills for infodocumentary professionals. The study is based on part of the results obtained as part of a sociological research carried out in the doctoral thesis, which investigated the system of continuous professional training of librarians in the Republic of Moldova, conducted between July and September of 2022, on a sample of 842 specialized staff from all types of libraries in 35 administrative subdivisions. The results of the analysis show that the majority of the respondents (82.3%) consider that communication skills are essential in the exercise of their professional activity. The evaluation of the skills in order of importance on a scale from 1 to 5 indicates a high appreciation for communication skills (with an average score of 4.7). In conclusion, the author emphasizes the role of communication skills in facilitating access to information, in interactions with users and in the management of documentary collections. The author emphasizes the importance of pursuing the continuing professional development to enhance and improve the communication skills of library staff.
